A brief primer on what a "Spinatio" is.
In the 30MM universe the alien Byron/Bailon used mechs like the Portanova to invade Earth, who had their own, such as the Alto.
The Maxion are a third faction that use Spinatio/Spinatia and the reason they look like individualized mechs in the form of ninjas, samurai and knights, is because the mechs themselves are lifeforms, not piloted mecha. The Army Type is exactly that, a US Army styled plated soldier with a combat knife and an assault rifle.
Aesthetics:
The green/brown fits in well with the Byron/bailon colored kits.
The overall aesthetic is that of a foot soldier, reminiscent of US Army soldiers in the jungle, while its head visor is more near-future styled.
Mechanics/Bits:
All Spinatio have slightly improved articulation over that of other 30MM kits. Since they're lighter, they're not as bogged down by their C-clip joints.
This is a fairly standard 30MM model kit with the same sort of mobility range and limitations of the other types - It uses polycaps on some joints and plastic on plastic ball joints or pegs in other places, resulting in a decent stability, prone to a bit of slack, especially with age.
The Army Type has some amount of armor, such as its single peg chest plate, dual peg back plate, single peg thigh armor pieces and long-slot shin armor pieces. The shield or armor plate has a 3mm peg and 3mm hole, making it versatile with just about anything, especially if used with different in-between joints, such as a 3mm to C-clip, which then attaches it onto a shoulder or the included C-clip hinged front waist armor (for crucial ball (hip joint) protection).
I give the bits compatibility a solid A-. Obviously all the Spinatio styled models can use these extra parts interchangeably, while some things are less compatible, like the long-slot shin armor, which is a rarer type - Not compatible with the 30MF long-slot shins for example.
Equipment:
1 Army Rifle - Has a long slot on the top and one 3mm hole on its right side near the stock (for holstering)
1 Combat Knife, machete style, with a 3mm hole and dual 3mm pegs
1 versatile Shield
Conclusion:
Very cheap, great for a standard army grunt style of 'mook' kits to back up a villain or a military leader. The visor is menacing in a cool way and you can vary the armor a lot, by pegging the thigh plates onto other places, turning them up-side down or having an asymmetrical look.
The shield, rifle and knife are especially great for other model kits like 30MS, if you want a tacti-cool chick or a nice looking military style rifle for a Zaku.
You're not going to be able to use the chest and thigh plates on just anything, due to how they're shaped, but then again pretty much nothing is universally cross compatible between Bandai kits.
