The kit is compatible with the 2008 MG Launcher/Sword Strike.
The pictured Sword and green cannon, as well as the 2003 Strike are NOT included!!!
Aesthetics:
The 2013 Strike (right) has a visual overhaul from the 2003 Strike (left), with more panels and more color separation, notably the rear vents and head vents and vulcans, with more panel lines.
The kit comes with a foil sticker sheet, decal sticker sheet and a very nice dry transfer sheet for the Strike and the Aile Pack.
Mechanics:
While the 2013 Strike is a sturdier and more modernized build, it does not have particularly great articulation, though it can hold large weapons. Apart from an opening cockpit and side skirts, it doesn't really do anything, since it's a modular mobile suit made for equipping various packs.
Equipment:
1 Aile Pack - Has moving wings/thrusters and two sliding gimmicks - One for making room for the Perfect Strike attachments and the other to move the pack away from the body, in order to fit the shoulder mounted weapons
2 Beam Saber Hilts - Equipped on the Aile Pack
2 pink Beam Saber effect parts
1 Attachable battery pack with 4 batteries
1 Beam Rifle - Not storable
1 Shield, equippable on either forearm
10 swappable Finger parts - 2 fists, 2 spread open hands, 2 rifle holding hands, 2 beam saber holding hands and 2 holding hands without tabs, for holding the (not included) Sword and Launcher cannon
4 minifigs - 2 pilots, 1 Kira "Jesus" Yamato and 1 Mu "Not Char" La Flaga
3 extra parts to make the Sword shoulder compatible and to attach the Launcher servo arm onto the Aile Pack
1 massive 'launch pad' Base with a collapsible arm for aerial poses
Conclusion:
This kit along with the 2008 Sword and Launcher Pack MG, is the only way outside of P-Bandai to get an MG Perfect Strike.
The Aile Pack holds the sword holder and the servo arm for the cannon and the Strike can hold both weapons at the same time.
Overall it's a decent kit with the only flaw being the side skirts that pop off a lot, something that the 2003 kit did better.
Outside of the Perfect Grade, this is the only Perfect Strike option you have, as the old 1.0 2003 Strike is not fully compatible.
All in all, it has a pretty big shelf presence and the dry transfers look really good. A fun little project.
