A really fun kit to build!

I bought this kit to see if building gunpla truly was something for me, and I must say it really was one hell of an introduction.

It was a joy to build and it truly has a presence wherever it stands. The parts that are a part of the transformation was especially fun to put together as they were gradually hidden in the structure of the mobile suit itself (only to be seen when you actually want to transform it!).

The kit is quite heavy but it is very well balanced and I've had no issues posing it without a base in all manner of ways without it wanting to fall over. It is somewhat limited in its articulation but better than what you'd expect for how bulky it is.

This kit has taught me that gunpla indeed is something I want to thoroughly enjoy and I hope I will have similarly fun experiences with it in the future!

Transforming Giant

First of all, it has a massive cannon on its forehead. I mean... c'mon. How awesome is that?

It's a bit of a weird kit in that this is first and foremost a transforming Gundam and while I haven't tried all, it's undoubtedly one of the best ever made. The only 'partsforming' piece is the gun itself, which attaches as a new cockpit.
So yeah, if you think it looks a bit plain and has odd parts, that's why.
A flaw on this kit, if you can call it that, is that in order to actually aim the gigantic gun straight ahead, you have to finagle and mess around with the massive shoulder plate to fit it.

Aesthetically it's a very blocky mobile suit with a bunch of seemingly random stuff attached to it, but it's quite a bit more massive and larger than the average MG kit.
The transformation is not easy, but for a model kit it's top notch with some interesting engineering, such as the lower legs that can rotate inside of the leg in order to reveal a thruster and hide the foot.
It doesn't transform in that awkward "turn the head and hope no one looks underneath" kind of way, it's actually a comprehensive transformation and the whole thing can split into two flight units.
I will say though that the flight mode despite the large wings and massive thrusters, it's not the most convincing looking flier. It's a brick with wings and a long cockpit. It feels fairly solid, but I wouldn't trust it on a single base. You can, but it's going to feel dodgy.

The beam sabers are absurdly huge; They're the size of chopsticks, which is fun. You get enough parts to make an extra core flier, which is neat. Not much else to say, there's nothing wrong with it. If you like how it looks, it'll be an impressive and large model in your collection.

My first Gundam

My first Gundam build ... I was a little apprehensive before buying - not sure if I could do it. But it turned out great. The detail and quality of the parts is amazing and so satisfying to see it all come together. It took me the best part of a weekend - but I am very happy with the result. (I would recommend getting a base/stand). The delivery service and the friendly note that came with the model just made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. 5 stars for the model and 5 stars for the service. I will definitely be building more of these. I have never seen the anime -but I do love these crazy Japanese robots :)
