It was in 1903 that Adolphe Cl��ment, founder of the Cl��ment-Bayard auto find in association with Darracq, started an Englishsubsidiary-Cl��ment-Talbot, Ltd. in conjunction with the Earl ofShrewsbury and Talbot. After having sold cars under the Talbot name,Cl��ment-Talbot was bought by the Darracq Company in 1919. In thefollowing year, 1920, Sunbeam joined the other two firms and gavebirth to the British company STD (Sunbeam-Talbot-Darracq).
